About Us

Our History

The founder of Image Coffee, Barnabas Taremwa Bwaniaga PhD is a pioneer of coffee private export in Uganda. It was in the 90s when Taremwa PhD came up with the idea to privatise coffee export in the country at a time when the state-owned parastatal Coffee Marketing Board (CMB) had a monopoly over the entire industry.

Taremwa PhD was part of the First group of entrepreneurs to export coffee privately with remarkable success at which point he moved on to other ventures in Real Estate, Forestry, Gold refinery. On seeing the sorry state of the coffee industry after almost 10 years, Taremwa PhD sought to go back and take on the challenges through Image Coffee.
